Tree Hunt May 2017

Today we went on a tree hunt as part of our topic 'All things bright and beautiful'. The children looked round identifying the trees that grow in the school grounds and around parts of the village. They used their tree identification sheet and a tree ID app to work out what type of tree they had found.

Roamin' Romans!

Elm class had a brilliant morning at the museum in Towcester learning all about the Romans.

Forest School Session 5

What a wet session we had today in Newbottle Woods! The children had lots of fun playing games and showed their creative side when making a piece of art using MUD! You can tell by the photos below that they didn't mind how soaked they all were by the end of the session. We even jumped in a few puddles on the way back.

Forest School Session 4

This afternoon Ash class took part in their 4th session at Newbottle Woods. This week the children were split into two teams to create a shelter they could fit in. They could only use a tarpaulin and things they could find in the woods. We checked at the end to see if they were waterproof. It was a lot of fun and we really saw great team work.

Belief through Art

Elm class have been studying a variety of objects which might be symbolic. This couldbe an object that has a special meaning to the owner, such as a shell from a memorable holiday. We then focused on objects which carry significance to Christians and studied these before drawing them and considering their meaning.

Mort brings us a gift

Mort has come to Charlton after reading the children's brochures. He delivered us a gift that each child will have the opportunity to take home for a night. Please enjoy reading the story with your child.

Forest School Session 3

Today's session was all about habitats. We discussed which animals might live in the woods and were introduced to some cuddly characters. We then had to work together to use natural resources to make a home for our furry friends.

Dance Festival 2017

Today Year 2 took part in the BALP Cluster Dance Festival at MCS. The class split into two groups and student from MCS (ex NBC - Mollie, Emily, Olivia, Amelia) taught the children a dance to Mr Blue Sky (the theme was weather). They did really well to learn, practise and then perform the dance to parents all in three hours. See the performances below:
