Thunderstorms and Rainbows!

Well done Oak class - we've finished our first topic! It has been such great fun and I'm excited to get going with our next one. Reception have done so well settling into school and Year 1 have really risen to the difficult challenge of transitioning into Year 1. I now have 9 wonderful, hard-working role models for our new recruits. We've done so much it's difficult to know where to begin! We've done sewing, baking, cloud making, painting, planting, dancing, experimenting....to name a few! Along the way we've also made friends, tried new things, overcome fears, accepted challenges, tested our limits and had fun. Have a look at the pictures to see for yourself.

Trickle Radio Adverts

Today was the day we transformed the school into the unusual holiday destination of the town of Trickle. Birch class had the challenge of creating radio adverts to persuade people to come and visit the rainiest place in the world.

Walking fingers

On Thursday 20th September Elm class began their 10 week first access music project- learning the guitar. Mr Foley (NMPAT music teacher) taught us walking fingers on string E and B and we also learnt to play a few tunes using these notes. Parents, in Term 2, will be invited to a concert where we will show case what we have learnt.

Osmington Bay Day 4

Day 4 Our last full day! Another early start and only a few were awake when I did my wake up call at 6:45am. In the morning we had orienteering and the giant swing. Some great team work exploring the base and everyone attempted the giant swing with lots of screaming. In the afternoon the children tackled the climbing wall and had a great time at the rifle shooting area. Last night during the activity called Splash children had to design a protecting shield for a water balloon. After tea we threw them off the zip wire tower where none of them survived :( Tonight was the disco, which included some great dancing. The children are now getting ready for bed and we hopefully will have a water sess

Osmington Day 3

Having some problems with this tonight, hope to have some text to match photos very shortly. Apologies. Mrs Smith. Please now see below Mr Smith's blog - he says it will be later tomorrow night due to the disco......however i hope it will be still earlier than tonight's!! Day 3 What a fantastic day we had today. We started our day with archery developing their skills before moving on to trapeze. Everyone had a go and attempted to challenge themselves with a few, including myself, managing to climb up on to the platform and jump off to touch a ball. It was very windy up there! After lunch we had great fun playing Aeroball and taking part in mini tournaments. We also had great fun on the low

Osmington Bay - Day 2

Good Morning. Once the evening activities were completed, children last night settled in their rooms! There was quite a bit of chatting but by 10.30 all was generally quiet. This morning we were up with the lark for our 7.25 breakfast which was enjoyed by all. Today the children will experience a coastal walk, abseiling, street surfing and the zip wire. 8.30 pm A great second day has been had by all! In the morning we visited the beach and played some fun games. After we tried street skating. I was so impressed with how the children persevered as at first they struggled to master it! Everyone improved and some had a go by themselves by the end. As for what exactly it is you can hopefully t

Osmington Bay Day 1

What a great first day! We arrived at Weymouth beach with the sun shining. We had fun paddling, building moats and playing volley ball. After a short trip to Osmington Bay we would greeted by our leader Sofia, who took us on a tour around and showed us our accommodation. We then had a play in the recreational ground called 'Little Wembley'. We are now just finishing up the evening activity. More to follow tomorrow!
