ABOUT

Newbottle and Charlton CEVA Primary School is a Church of England Voluntary Aided school.  Although our school primarily serves the villages of Charlton and Aynho, we also have many children from the surrounding villages of Evenley, Mixbury, Farthinghoe, Croughton and Fritwell as well as from the town of Brackley.  We are a primary school covering Reception to Year 6 (ages 4-11) and numbers on roll are approximately 105.  The school is funded through the local authority and as a church school we belong to the Peterborough Diocese.

We consistently have high levels of achievement and children make excellent progress when here. We have also invested heavily in technology over the past few years and as a result we are well resourced with touch screen laptops, digital cameras, video cameras, interactive white-boards etc. However, our school is fully committed to developing the whole child and as a result the pupils here are polite, happy, hard-working and enthusiastic about their learning.  They are kind to one another and go to great lengths to praise, encourage and look after one another.

Pupil surveys consistently show that almost 100% of pupils in our school feel there is an adult they could and would go to if they were upset or concerned about something.

Parent surveys indicate that almost 100% of parents feel their child is happy at our school and enjoys coming to school. We have very strong links with parents and a very supportive parenting community. We believe that for each child to reach his or her potential, a positive working partnership between home and school is essential.

Our Staff

We have dedicated and committed staff who ensure that all pupils are given the best opportunities to succeed.  They all care very deeply about all the children and know each child very well.

Safeguarding

The school adopts an open and accepting attitude towards children as part of its responsibility for pastoral care. All staff encourage children and parents to feel free to talk about any concerns and to see school as a safe place when there are difficulties. Children’s fears and concerns will be taken seriously and children are encouraged to seek help from members of staff.
