Elm Class - a great start to the new school year.

Elm Class have all settled in very well; the new year 4s are enjoying being the 'older ones' in class and have been super role models to our new year 3s. Meanwhile, the year 3s have made a great start to Key Stage 2!

We have now finished our whole-school topic on Ten Pieces of music which has been fabulous. The children loved the variety of activities and responded creatively to each piece of music. They especially enjoyed deciding on some of the activities!

In maths, the children have been consolidating their place value knowledge; year 3 looking at 3 digit numbers and year 4 now working on 4 digit numbers. They have also been learning about fractions and using bar models to find fractions of different quantities - see if they can show you how this works!

This week we will begin our exciting topic called BURIED TREASURE and we will start our new class book. The homework set is linked to this and should get imaginations firing!

Well done to all of Elm Class for a great start to the year.
