One of my favourite things about teaching the Ancient Greeks is when we study lots of the Greek Myths and legends. These stories about the ancient Greek gods have been around for thousands of years are still popular and are retold today. Each storyteller told the stories in their own way, but whatever power and personality a god had was consistent from story to story. For example, Zeus was the king of all the gods, and only Zeus could throw lightning bolts. The magical world of the ancient Greek gods was a world full of bickering and fights and wars and compromise and fear and fun and punishment and love. Many myths were based on the fact that gods, like mortal men, could be punished or rewarded for their actions. Each week we will look at a Greek myth in more detail.
Today I would love you to read/ listen to one of the versions of King Midas. As we do in school I would like you create an emotion graph with the key plot points of the story. Y axis + 3 down to -3. Use the squared paper in your maths book for this. You could split the story into 4/5 plot points.
