Well done to everyone who came in PJs today to raise money for Children in Need today. At break-time the Pupil Parliament (with staff) ran some games/competitions including the CIN Duck Race (where Beakwell Tart was crowned the winner).We managed to raise a massive £225.16. Thank you!

This week was Maths Week England and we decided to take part in some of the activities they had planned to raise the profile/enjoyment of mathematics in school. Children did some fun activities/puzzles with a maths focus and each year group did a mathematics quiz to enter a competition. On Wednesday 6th November, Elm were visited by a Viking! We all had a fantastic day learning more about the Viking way of life, armour, burial ceremonies, Kenning riddles and board games. We even learned a song in Viking language!

So much more sleep was had by everyone last night! Beautiful sunshine and a busy morning already had with stripping beds, packing, having breakfast and then getting ready for their first activities of the day King Swing and the Maze.

Good Morning Year 4 Parents!

After a fairly good nights sleep, last to drop off was midnight, earliest up was 5.15, the children have tidied their bedrooms for a 7.30 am room inspection! They enjoyed a great breakfast of cereal, toast, jam, fruit, yoghurt and they are now in 2 groups - one completing the climbing wall and the other completing a walk the plank activity.

So it has been a great day so far and the team work skills are slowly developing!

They all had a lovely picnic lunch by the lock which was via a quite muddy walk (oh my, mud on day 1 - imagine day 3!) They then moved into a team building activity which was lots of fun.

After this they made their beds - I wonder who was the best bed maker? This was then followed by dinner, which they are currently enjoying - burgers, hotdogs...

Today we had our second ever mini-mud run and despite the difference in weather from last year, the children really enjoyed the sessions and got well and truly muddy. Here is a small collection of the 500 photos that were taken!

On Thursday 20th September Elm class began their 10 week first access music project-  learning the guitar. 

Mr Foley (NMPAT music teacher) taught us walking fingers on string E and B and we also learnt to play a few tunes using these notes.

Parents, in Term 2,  will be invited to a concert where we will show case what we have learnt.

Elm class have been experimenting with 3D Paint in computing. They have created buildings with different features as well as creating photographs of themselves with surreal elements, eg other objects appearing in the scene.

So the final post about the Year 4's here.

After another good night the children had to complete their packing - some with more success than others and also enjoyed breakfast with bacon as an option this morning.

One group are now currently refining some Archery skills while the other group, with some trepidation, are attempting the swamp. Groups will then swap over before lunch and departure.

The children are reluctant to leave...
